Zorowatt vs PV*SOL premium

Where PV*SOL is strong, where it falls short, and what changes if you switch. Every number can be checked on their site.

PV*SOL premium (Valentin Software) is 3D PV design and simulation software with batteries, load profiles, grid and feed-in tariffs, a 20-year financial analysis and reports in 24 languages. Zorowatt starts from the business's meter data and bill, and sizes the battery against the rebuilt bill, peak charges included. (valentin-software.com)

Short answer
When to pick PV*SOL
Pick PV*SOL premium if the job is designing the PV array in 3D, with the battery as part of the PV system, and you need the report in many languages.
When to pick Zorowatt
Pick Zorowatt if the battery case turns on peak charges, a kW contract or a connection limit: Zorowatt rebuilds the bill from 15-minute data under a sourced tariff, those charges included, and sizes the battery against it.

In short

PV*SOL premium is the fuller PV design tool and its reports come in 24 languages; Zorowatt's come in four (English, Dutch, German, Romanian). Zorowatt is the narrower battery tool: it checks the meter data, rebuilds the business's bill and sizes the battery for peak charges and connection limits, which PV*SOL's product page does not mention. Many installers will want both: PV*SOL for the array, Zorowatt for the battery case.

How to switch

Upload the measured load profile you imported into PV*SOL (CSV or Excel).

  1. Upload the site's meter data to the free data checker or the Workspace: every assumption made reading the file is listed.
  2. Pick the site's tariff and enter the invoices: the bill check shows whether the baseline matches before anything is sized.
  3. Size the battery, compare it with your earlier study, and send the client the PDF report.

Questions

How much does PV*SOL premium cost?
€845 + VAT for a one-year named-user licence, as cited on the product page (read on 2026-10-28). Zorowatt Starter is €49 a month for 3 site analyses, then €15 each; Pro is €149 a month with a white-label report and 3 seats. Your first site analysis is free, with no card.
Does PV*SOL model peak shaving?
Its product page does not mention peak shaving or demand (Leistungspreis) charges (read on 2026-10-28). It does list time-controlled charging and discharging and several grid tariffs per consumer. Zorowatt rebuilds the peak charge from the meter data under the operator's tariff, then sizes the battery to cut it or to stay under a connection limit.
Can I use PV*SOL and Zorowatt together?
Yes. Design the array in PV*SOL; in Zorowatt, model the planned solar from PVGIS and size the battery against the site's rebuilt bill.
Which languages does Zorowatt's report come in?
English, Dutch, German and Romanian. The site, the free tools, the Workspace and the PDF report all follow the language you choose.
